Jee Cultural and Art Institute
Where Iranian art meets the world
Jee’s cultural and artistic activities began in 2010, developing from the outset across disciplines rather than being confined to a single medium or field. Over the years, this journey has expanded through visual arts, photography, exhibitions and curatorial projects, cinema, theatre, publishing, and interdisciplinary cultural initiatives.
Jee was founded on the idea that cultural practice should not be understood as a series of isolated events, but as a continuous process of creating, presenting, and circulating works and ideas. Curating and organising solo and group exhibitions, collaborating with artists, producing films and performing arts projects, publishing books, supporting artistic initiatives, and creating opportunities for presenting work in Iran and Europe have all become interconnected parts of this structure.
In the visual arts, Jee’s activities have extended beyond the conventional gallery model. Exhibitions and artistic projects in Tehran and European cities, collaborations and exchanges with artists from different countries, and experimentation with new spaces and media for presenting art have shaped this ongoing practice. Alongside physical exhibitions, Jee has also explored digital infrastructure as a means of developing new forms of exhibition and expanding public access to art.
Jee’s production activities have encompassed film, television series, theatre, and visual projects, while its publishing activities have extended the same interdisciplinary approach into literary, artistic, and research-based works.
Over time, these activities have evolved through different platforms and divisions, including Jee Gallery, Jee Publisher, and Jee Production, as well as exhibition programmes, artist residencies, and international collaborations.
Today, after more than fifteen years of continuous activity, culture and art remain at the core of Jee Group—a space connecting artistic creation, production, exhibition, publishing, research, and cultural exchange, while continuing to explore new ways in which art can engage with society, technology, and the contemporary world.
