Where the group started

The Book Café was the first of the group's four themed cultural cafés, opened alongside the Photo Café, the Painting Café and the New Media Café in the group's first three years.

All four shared one idea: technology used in the service of hospitality and of reading. The Book Café remains the clearest statement of that idea — a working reading room that happens to serve coffee.
